POV Character Dar Samasar
Biography

Life

Ħamy Samasar holds the title of Emir of the Gundartag, commander of Daratag's Selaħdar, the elite household guards of the Royal palace, the Tag's own personal shield. He served Tag Hidar, and now serves his son Tag Amar. "Even when the Tag was mad."

Book One opens on the worst night of his life so far: ordered to drown a newborn child the court has declared a monster, he instead chooses mercy over obedience, a decision that sets the entire saga in motion. He carries Protector, an indestructible Nazolean steel blade forged in fires long dead, and wears the bronze emblem of the Buraq, Dar Samasar's winged horse.
