The royal palace of Mehirea, in Kanana. Built as a fortress long before it became the seat of royal power, its walls have stood proud and indomitable against every storm, literal and political, that Book One throws at it.

Seat of Dar Mansour, guarding the Plain Gardens. A fortress of the Ascent, raised by Salman al-Mansour when he claimed the valley that feeds the Crowndom.

Home of the Covenant of the Jud, atop the highest mountain in Deeja. Effectively impregnable, home to the Amulet of the San of Talorad.

Sealed Salarad through the Scruff, the narrow pass between the Mage Mounts and the Tar Mounts, separating the Crowndom from the cursed sands of purged Salarad. Guarded by the Sentry, whose vow binds them to the wall until "the sands may take me, but now I remain."
